1.
we are limbs roots and branches fighting the pull of the earth twisting gnarling reaching for the sky for the sun that gives us life yet gravity wins in the end and twigs bend to kiss the water the earth that bears us brings us down back to the ground back to the ground while wanting what is higher we remember what is below roots and leaves both make us grow caught between the roots and leaves who I am and who I want to be spread my limbs and stretch my branches put down roots and take my chances
2.
you said love I must go western skies call me home to a people I know to a future of hope it won't be long till I'm where I belong singing my songs free and strong distance makes the heart grow fonder but I can't take this for much longer if you must leave, love don't let me see or else these grey Virginia skies will smother me pack your bags, say your farewells get the hell out of here and be back before I can shed a tear as the James runs its way down the Chesapeake bay as the gulls wheel and play in these parking lots of grey so my heart runs for you like the river steady and true far and dry from you as the birds from the shore are removed if you must leave, love please take me or else these empty Virginia skies will smother me we'll pack our bags, say our farewells get the hell out of here and never come back

brother moon 04:05
brother moon do you miss the day because I've been catching glimpses of your face is the night not alright for you does the light of the stars turn your heart to your home brother moon I am looking for you brother moon I am missing her too brother moon do you remember the sun because I too am longing for someone did her brilliance fill you with pain do the marks on your cheeks mirror the smile on her face brother moon I am listening to you brother moon I am missing her too brother moon as you wax and wane I am too in my seasons of platitudes and pain do you know as you fade into black that your light never fails to come back to my skies brother moon don't be scared to die because soon bright and new you will rise

about

This self-titled debut EP is one man's attempt to find his voice. It is the first offering of what will hopefully be many to come.

The songs herein were written and arranged over a lengthy period by Bradley Knudsen.

They were recorded, mixed, and produced in Salt Lake City, Utah by Dennis Richard Fuller

Horn arrangement on "brother moon" also by Dennis R. Fuller

Abraham Von Waffles (aka "trashpaca") made the cover art

Special thanks to Austin, Steven, Clare, and my mom Bonni, without whose constant, baffling, and overwhelming support I would not be making music. Their spirits and those of many more generous and beautiful people are imprinted within these songs

And the deepest of gratitude to you, the listener. I hope that in this music you find some rest from a loud and weary world
